Une belle surprise - A nice surprise

Aujourd’hui j’ai pu voir un Renard Noir, et oui !! Plusieurs personnes m’avait dit qu’il en avait par ici, encore une fois, sur les côtes de Apex, j’ai pu observer ce joli Renard Noir se défilait. J’ai pu prendre quelques clichés, malheureusement, un peu loin, mais quand même de belles photos.

Today I saw a Black Fox, and yes!! Several people had said to me that they saw some around here, once again, on the hill near Apex, I observed this pretty Black Fox running away from here. I took some pictures, unfortunately, a little far, but nevertheless some beautiful pictures.

J’ai aussi inclus des jolis lever et coucher de soleil, en ce moment, le soleil se lêve à 8h45 et se couche à 14h00, alors, lors de mes marches qui se réduisent de jour en jour, je peux voir les lever et coucher lors de mes marches!

I also included some nice pictures of the sunrise and sunset, now, the sun rise around 8h45 and set around 14h00, so, when I go walking around, the day are smaller every day, I can see the sun rise and set when I go walking !

Ici, mon terrain de jeux qui commencent à être plus difficile, normalement j’en avais pour 15 minutes à me rendre sur cette colline, maintenant je dois faire le tour et j’en ai pour environ 45 minutes.

Here, my playground is going from easy to hard, normally, it took me 15 minutes to go on the top of this hill, now, I need to go around and it took me 45 minutes.

Les Aurores Boréales à Iqaluit – The Northern Light in Iqaluit !!

La nuit dernière mon ami Alan est venu me tirer de chez moi pour que je puisse prendre des photos des merveilleuses aurores boréales, avec son 4 X 4, nous sommes partis avec des amis pour nous rendre dans la région de la route qui ne mène nulle part.

Last night my friend Alan came to pull me out of my apartment to go taking picture of the Northern Light, with is 4 X 4, we went with friend to Road to Nowhere.


Là bas, pas vraiment de succès, mais nous avons beaucoup rit, disons qu’il faisait froid, très froid et que nous ne voyons rien, ajustement, trépied, changement de batterie, près de -40C, les batteries ne durent pas très longtemps (ainsi que mes doigts et d’autres parties de mon corps),prise de vue et comparaison de nos résultats.

There, not even one good picture, we have some good laugh, it was cold, very cold and we can’t see anything, adjust, tripod, change battery, near -40C, the batteries don’t last very long (also my fingers and some parts of my body), shot and compare some results.

Par la suite, Alan nous a reconduit chez nous, mais arrivant à la maison, Shelley (http://shelley-thebigmove.blogspot.com) à remarquer qu’au dessus de chez moi, nous avions un spectacle incroyable. Beaucoup de plaisirs, les ajustements avaient été fait alors moi j’ai pris mes photos sans trépied à f2.8/8 secondes/400ASA, le mieux que je pouvais faire avec ma caméra.

After that, Alan brings us back home, when we arrived at my place, Shelley (http://shelley-thebigmove.blogspot.com) notice that over my place, we had a nice show. A lot of laughs, we already know how to adjust the camera, I took those pictures at f2.8/8 seconds/400ASA, the best I can do with my camera.

Cette dernière photo assez bizarre nous a bien fait rigoler, on se demandait comment j’ai bien pu la prendre, suite à une analyse, on a découvert que je prenais la photo avec un minuteur et avant que le fameux 8 secondes, je prenais la caméra et voila le fameux mouvement des couleurs. J’ai passé une belle soirée et nous avons bien rit, surtout que je leurs ai dit qu’au lieu d’aller à l’autre bout d’Iqaluit on n’avait qu’à se mettre sur mon balcon.

This last picture, weird, make us laugh a lot, we had no clue, how did I took it, after analysis, we find out that I took the picture with a timer, and before the famous 8 seconds, I took the camera and that why we have those moving colors. I passed a nice evening and we laugh a lot, especially that I tell them that instead of going to the end of Iqaluit, we only need to go on my balcony.

Je suis de retour à Iqaluit – I’m back in Iqaluit

Je viens tous juste de revenir de vacance et je change de sujet pour le moment, je reviendrai avec « Une année à Iqaluit ». Commençons par les choses que je ne pensais pas vraiment voir ici.

I just returned from vacation and I change subject for the moment, I will return with « A year in Iqaluit ». Let start with the things that I really didn’t think seeing here.

Hé oui !! Encore à ma première journée de congé, sur le chemin de Apex, ce magnifique Renard Roux, pas blanc, ROUX, il s’est perdu en chemin, les gens ici disent qu’il y a aussi des renards noirs et argentés, je n’en ai pas encore vue.

Yeap !! On my first day off, on the road to Apex, this splendid Red Fox, not white, RED, he most make a wrong turn somewhere, people here say that there are also black and silver foxes, I didn’t see any yet !

La 2^e chose que je ne pensais pas vraiment voir ici, c’est un camion HYBRIDE !! J’ai bien hâte de voir à -70C, on s’en reparle, beau véhicule ce Ford Escape !!

The 2^nd thing that I was surprise to see around here, a HYBRID Truck !! I can wait to see it at -70C, I talk to you later about it, nice little truck this Ford Escape !!

La 3^e est un corbeau qui pourrait passer pour une dinde, ici ils sont énormes.

The 3rd is a raven which could pass for a turkey, they are enormous around here.

Dans mon voyage à Apex, ce magnifique support de bois de caribou, j’ai bien hâte d’en voir un vivant par ici.

In my trip to Apex, this nice caribou mounting, I can’t wait to see one alive.
