29e - L'Angleterre - England - 1e page

 

Me voici rendu en Angleterre, un petit périple que nous avons fait pour que je puisse aller passer une entrevue chez Aramat, pour un poste de Directeur Informatique AS400 pour une compagnie à Leeds, qui m'avait demandé en entrevu. Alors toutes dépenses payés, on est parti pour l'Angleterre de Milan, Italie. On en a aussi profité pour joindre l'utile à l'agréable, en passant par le tunnel du mont Blanc pour rejoindre la France et faire un petit détour en Écosse. Alors commençons avec les fameux drapeaux, j'ai mi ici le drapeau de l'Angleterre et celui de la Grande-Bretagne que tous le monde connaît que l'Angleterre fait parti de la Grande-Bretagne. 

Comme vous pouvez le remarquer, on s'est promené un peu partout en Grande-Bretagne pendant notre semaine. Près de 2000 km en 38 heures. J'ai été passer mes entrevues le lundi matin, une autre le mercredi matin et la dernière pour recevoir notre réponse malheureusement négative le vendredi matin. Sans comprendre le pourquoi, mon cv était 100% selon les demandes et celui que je devais remplacer, semblait très heureux d'avoir trouvé la perle rare selon lui. On est reparti pour Milan le samedi matin. Vous pouvez voir les endroits ou nous avons été, pas vraiment dans l'ordre que nous avons été, j'avais des après-midi et 2 journées complètes pour nous promener. Alors je vais mettre les photos dans l'ordre que je les ai prise.

En passant, les photos ont été prise à 100% par moi.  

Here I am in England, a short trip we made so I could go to Aramat for an AS400 IT Director position in Leeds, which had requested an interview. So, all expenses paid, we left for England from Milan, Italy. We also took the opportunity to combine business with pleasure, passing through the Mont Blanc tunnel to go France and making a short detour to Scotland. So let's start with the famous flags. I've put here the flag of England and the one of Great Britain, which everyone knows England is in Great Britain.

As you can see, we traveled all over Great Britain during our week. Nearly 2,000 km in 38 hours. I went for my interviews on Monday morning, another on Wednesday morning, and the last one, only to receive our unfortunately negative response on Friday morning. Without understanding why, my CV was 100% in line with the requirements and the person I was supposed to replace seemed very happy to have found the rare pearl according to him. We left for Milan on Saturday morning. You can see the places we went, not really in the order we went, I had afternoons and 2 full days to drive around. So I'll put the photos in the order I took them.

By the way, these picture are 100% taken by me. 

Pour l'occasion, on a eu la chance de louer une Alfa Roméo 147 avec une plaque de Rome, Italie, disons qu'on nous remarquait sur les lumières rouges et les stationnements. Une superbe voiture sport qui tient bien la route. 

For the occasion, we were lucky enough to rent an Alfa Romeo 147 with a Rome, Italy license plate, so let's just say we were noticed at red lights and in parking lots. A superb sports car that handles well.

 

Alors pour profiter d'un peu de repos après avoir passé quelques jours en France pour arriver à Le Havre pour prendre le bateau, on a pu profiter d'une petite nuit de sommeil sur le traversier pour arriver en Grande-Bretagne le lendemain matin très tôt, on a eu droit à un ouragan dans La Manche et le bateau volait presque, tous le monde a été malade quand nous on dormait dans notre cabine. Alors arrivé à Portsmouth, UK. En débarquant du bateau, à la première rouge j'ai tourné du mauvais côté, comme chez nous, pour arriver face à face avec une voiture qui attendait à la lumière, j'ai évité et pas trop d'erreur par la suite.

So to enjoy a little rest after spending a few days in France to arrive in Le Havre to take the boat, we were able to enjoy a short night's sleep on the ferry to arrive in Great Britain the next morning very early, we had a hurricane in the English Channel and the boat was almost flying, everyone was sick when we were sleeping in our cabin. So arrived in Portsmouth, UK. Disembarking the boat, at the first red light I turned the wrong way, like at home, to arrive face to face with a car waiting at the light, I avoided it and not too many mistakes after that.

J'aime bien ses maisons en rangée, on dirait même qu'ils avaient été construite en dessous d'un ancien long viaduc pour train. On remarque les voitures qui roulent du mauvais côté de la rue. La conduit à droite, pas évident, mais moi je conduis à gauche dans mon Alfa et ces encores moins évident. La première fois que l'on croise s'est épeurant, mais on s'y fait.

 

I like these house in row. It even looks like they were built under a long old train viaduct. You notice the cars driving on the wrong side of the street. Driving on the right is not easy, but I drive on the left in my Alfa and it's even less easy. The first time you pass it's scary, but you get used to it.

 

Nous avons pris la direction de Londres, on a pris un petit tour guidé, on était arrivé assez tôt le matin et on voulait voir la ville en relaxant. On a vue plein de monuments, on a passé un petit arc de Triomphe près du palais de Buckingham, qu'on ne pouvait voir pour des raisons de sécurité. Un ses autobus à deux étages.

 

We drive to London, we took a short guided tour. We had arrived quite early in the morning and wanted to see the city in a relaxing way. We saw lots of monuments, and we passed a small Triumphal Arch near Buckingham Palace, which we couldn't see for security reasons. One of these double-Decker buses. 

 

 

 

Nous avons aussi visité l'Abbé de Westminster. 

On dirait notre église Notre-Dame de Montréal en plus gros ici.

Le fameux Big Ben et le palais de Westminster, la grande roue qu'ils appellent l'Oeil de Londres sans oublier d'autres endroits merveilleux que je ne trouve pas sur la carte de Londres.

Visite de Trafalgar square, avec ses monuments, ses anciens taxi, ses vieilles cabines téléphonique, ses autobus à deux étages.
