Comme vous le savez déjà me voici rendu en Angleterre, un petit périple que nous avons fait pour que je puisse aller passer une entrevue chez Aramat, pour un poste de Directeur Informatique AS400 pour une compagnie à Leeds, qui m'avait demandé en entrevue. Alors commençons avec les fameux drapeaux, j'ai mi ici le drapeau de l'Angleterre et celui de la Grande-Bretagne que tous le monde connaît que l'Angleterre fait parti de la Grande-Bretagne. 

Comme vous pouvez le remarquer, on s'est promené un peu partout en Grande-Bretagne pendant notre semaine. Près de 2000 km en 38 heures. Vous pouvez voir les endroits ou nous avons été, pas vraiment dans l'ordre que nous avons été, j'avais des après-midi et 2 journées complètes pour nous promener. Alors je vais mettre les photos dans l'ordre que je les ai prise.

En passant, les photos ont été prise à 100% par moi.  

Here I am in England, a short trip we made so I could go to Aramat for an AS400 IT Director position in Leeds, which had requested an interview. So let's start with the famous flags. I've put here the flag of England and the one of Great Britain, which everyone knows England is in Great Britain.

As you can see, we traveled all over Great Britain during our week. Nearly 2,000 km in 38 hours. You can see the places we went, not really in the order we went, I had afternoons and 2 full days to drive around. So I'll put the photos in the order I took them.

By the way, these picture are 100% taken by me. 

Pour l'occasion, on a eu la chance de louer une Alfa Roméo 147 avec une plaque de Rome, Italie, disons qu'on nous remarquait sur les lumières rouges et les stationnements. Une superbe voiture sport qui tient bien la route. 

For the occasion, we were lucky enough to rent an Alfa Romeo 147 with a Rome, Italy license plate, so let's just say we were noticed at red lights and in parking lots. A superb sports car that handles well.

 

Alors après avoir visité Londres, nous avons pris la route pour notre petit auberge, à Hebden Bridge, un très mignon coin de pays. Pas très loin de Leeds, ou était mes entrevues. Vous voyez ici, notre auberge, le Robin Hood Inn, incroyablement superbe.

So after visiting London, we headed to our little hostel in Hebden Bridge, a very cute little corner of the country. Not far from Leeds, where my interviews were. Here you see our inn, the Robin Hood Inn, incredibly superb.

Ici on avait une signalisation à se poser des questions, mais la bête n'était pas du tout méchante, j'ai la photo du chien juste après, très amicale.

Here we had a sign that made us wonder, but the beast was not at all mean, I have the photo of the dog just after, very friendly.

 

Ici vous avez les intérieurs, de la décoration partout, mais partout, vous voyez la salle à manger, la salle de billard et le bar. Disons que c'est là que j'ai découvert le vrai pâté chinois, dans des coquillages pour les coquilles St-Jacques, 3 viandes, bœuf haché, porc haché, veau haché, le blé d'inde, les patates, le fromage Cheddar fondu, disons que j'en ai repris à plusieurs reprises.  

 Here you have the interiors, decoration everywhere, but everywhere you see the dining room, the billiard room and the bar. Let's say that this is where I discovered the real shepherd's pie, in shells for the scallops, 3 meats, ground beef, ground pork, ground veal, corn, potatoes, melted Cheddar cheese, let's just say that I had several more.

 

 

 

Ici vous avez la vue de notre chambre, tous les maisons du coin sont d'un gris très foncées, je suspecte le chauffage au charbon, mais quand même charmant comme coin. Vous avez les terres agricoles avec les murs de roche retiré dans leurs champs après des centaines d'années. Quelques animaux qui se promenaient sur les terres et même un clocher d'église dans le lointain.Coin de rêve trouvé par hasard encore une fois.

Here you have the view from our room, all the houses in the area are a very dark gray, I suspect coal heating but still charming as a corner. You have the farmlands with the rock walls removed in their fields after hundreds of years. A few animals wandering around the grounds and even a church steeple in the distance. A dreamy spot found by chance once again.

 

 Le lendemain matin, je suis allé à mon entrevue à Leeds, j'ai pris des photos du coin à mon arrivé là-bas.

 The next morning I went to my interview in Leeds, I took some pictures of the area when I arrived there.

La première fois que je voyais un rond point avec des feux de circulation, un ou l'autre, mais pas les deux. Aussi, des avertisseurs avec un bouton lumineux au milieu des routes, pas évident, mais si tu t'endors, dès que le véhicule touche les avertisseurs tu dois sûrement te réveiller, très bruyant.

The first time I saw a roundabout with traffic lights, one or the other, but not both. Also, horns with a ight button in the middle of the roads, not easy, but if you fall asleep, as soon as the vehicle touches the horns you must surely wake up, very noisy.

En se rendant à Nottingham, on est passé par la forêt de Sherwood, ou ce qui en reste, très triste à voir une forêt si petite. 

On the way to Nottingham we passed through Sherwood Forest, or what was left of it, very sad to see such a small forest. 

Le château de Nottingham sur le haut d'une colline, assez spéciale comme architecture, très carré. Au pied de la falaise, on peut remarquer les fortifications en arrière d'un vieux hôtel / pub avec une affiche qui dit que c'est le plus vieux d'Angleterre .

Nottingham Castle on top of a hill, quite special architecture, very square. At the foot of the cliff, you can see the fortifications behind an old hotel/pub with a sign saying it is the oldest in England.

En route vers Liverpool. Ses cheminées que je n'aime pas vraiment, mais malheureusement, ils n'ont pas le choix, à voir les maisons, les centrales devaient être au charbon dans le passé, le nucléaire est un peu plus propre, mais les rejets sont quand même très nocif pour la santé et doit être traité avec soin. 

On the way to Liverpool. I don't really like its chimneys, but unfortunately, they have no choice. Judging by the houses, the power stations had to be coal-fired in the past. Nuclear power is a little cleaner, but the emissions are still very harmful to health and must be treated with care.

Un petit tour de Liverpool, de son port et de son centre-ville. Même un véhicule amphibien pour le touriste. 

A short tour of Liverpool, its port and city center. There's even an amphibious vehicle for tourists.

 

À notre retour vers le port de Portsmouth, le samedi, le traversier partait tard la nuit, alors on a fait un petit croche vers le circuit de formule un de Grande Bretagne à Silverstone.

On our way back to Portsmouth Harbour on Saturday, the ferry was late at night, so we made a quick detour to the British Formula One circuit at Silverstone. 

Par la suite, aller visiter Oxford, dans la même région. son université, ses immeubles anciens et très remarquable. À notre arrivé, on a pu voir des pratiques d'aviron. Des petites rues et ruelles de toute beauté, ainsi que de superbe maisons, commerces et ses églises. Des portes incroyables qui font des facades incroyables.

Afterwards, we went to visit Oxford, in the same region. Its university, its old buildings and very remarkable. When we arrived, we were able to see rowing practices. Small streets and alleys of great beauty, as well as superb houses, shops and its churches. Incredible doors that make incredible facades.

Le fameux Stonehenge, à notre arrivé, la pluie était arrivée avant nous et nous ne pouvions aller visiter, les guérites étaient fermé pour cause de pluie. Alors je me suis stationné sur le côté de la route, avec mon trépied, mon imperméable sur le dos et le parapluie sur la caméra, pour donner ce résultat quand même pas si pire. Mais à chaque fois qu'un camion passait derrière mois, j'avais droit à une vague, j'étais trempé jusqu'à l'os. 

The famous Stonehenge, when we arrived, the rain had arrived before us and we couldn't go visit, the sentry boxes were closed because of the rain. So I parked on the side of the road, with my tripod, my raincoat on my back and the umbrella on the camera, to give this result which wasn't so bad. But every time a truck passed behind me, I was treated to a wave, I was soaked to the bone.

 

 

Rendu à Portsmouth, on a fait un petit tour avant de prendre le traversier, j'ai pris ses deux clichés de nuit, j'aime bien le résultat. Surtout l'église avec presque seulement la structure sans rien d'autre.

Once we got to Portsmouth, we took a quick tour before taking the ferry. I took these two night shots; I like the result. Especially the church, with almost only the structure and nothing else.

Alors mon petit périples en Angleterre se terminé sur ces jolies photos, mais il me reste l'Écosse, car je n'ai pas encore terminé la Grande Bretagne.

So my little journey in England ends with these pretty photos, but I still have Scotland to do, because I haven't finished Great Britain yet.
